Recently a very big, and long awaited event occurred in our little family! We have gone from a family of three to a family of four! After, what seemed like to me, an endless 9 months little Katherine Renee made her appearance. She weighed in at 9 pounds 10 ounces and stretched out to 21.5 inches long. Little, you see, can be a very relative term!
Her names have special meaning to us in that we borrowed them from two very important people in our lives. We would have liked to been able to include everyone in this but the line on the birth certificate form only allowed so much space. So after trying several combinations we settled on Katherine, after my grandmother, and Renee, after my mother. Orran's name came from his grandfather and great-great grandfather. A tradition in Glen's family. Below is a picture of my Grandma Cathy (whom Katie was named after) and my father holding our little one!
Katie's arrival was highly anticipated by Orran, who had all sorts of plans for her! The first time he got to meet her he was kind of in awe, watching her and how people acted around her. I think he enjoyed holding her for the first time! (seen below)
Since leaving the hospital our days and nights have been very busy adjusting to our new routine. I had forgotten how fast a day can swing by when you're measuring it by two or three hour bottle feedings and naps! But, we had our first check up today and she's almost back up to her birth weight. I think it's safe to say that we've had a delivery and momma, baby, brother, and daddy are all doing just fine!!
